Since running for office in 2017, I have been open and willing to engage with any and all Town residents. However, I refuse to engage with or respond to individuals who routinely broadcast distortions and falsehoods with no regard for the consequences. The same applies to individuals who spread baseless and slanderous allegations. Because of the hysteria created by misrepresentations about the Stony Creek reservoir, I would like to set the record straight on my position:
I will reach a decision regarding the future of the Stony Creek reservoir based on the best interests of ALL the residents of the Town of Colonie. Additionally, I will continue following the latest developments and reviewing all of the facts in order to make an informed and educated decision that benefits everyone.
It has been my experience that this Town is fortunate to have dedicated public officials and employees of all political persuasions who are continually working in the best interests of the Town. I am proud of what we have accomplished in the last several years and I am proud to be a lifelong resident of the Town of Colonie.
It is surprising that an elected official would say such things about community residents who are merely asking for information, data, and solid reasons for disposing of a valuable public asset. Ms Jeffers' states no facts, baseless slanderour allegation herself. Resign. Resign!
And you can "continue following the latest developments " by friends of your boss Paula.Freudian slip, eh???
I have no idea what "baseless and slanderous allegations" this is referring to, but to be honest it really doesn't seem to state any kind of position. As for myself, I'm a resident of Colonie and I and everyone I've talked to about this is opposed to it. I don't think we need to continue handing over wild lands to developers to make a quick buck.
Eliminating a secondary water source for our community is a really bad idea. Climate change is unpredictable, therefore we cannot sell this asset.
